Life can be messy. I mean I ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere, and can’t call anyone because my phone is in the passenger seat along with my keys and the door is locked kind of messy. Or maybe its the chasing four kids and a dog for 26 hours a day which should be impossible when there is only 24 hours a day kind of messy. Or maybe its worse. Maybe it’s the kind of messy that can’t be cleaned up with a hot bath and some chocolate. All of our lives are messy sometimes. So let life do what life does, just don’t let it leave a dark stain within you. Keep your head screwed on, and let God take over. He is good at cleaning up messes, so why ya stressing?
Here are 15 verses to bring you comfort when you are surrounded by chaos
“In Peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23: 1-4
“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:17-19
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
“fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.” Isaiah 41:10
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6: 25-34
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubles, neither let hem be afraid.” John 14:27
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7
“Keep you life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say,
The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6
It is funny because when I started this post I was a little grumpy from my own anxieties of everyday life and I am ending this in a great mood because HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD?! He is telling us to just chill out, follow his rules, and things will be JUST FINE.
So I ask again, why ya stressing?
